Movies can be a great source of inspiration. Sometimes you watch a movie that touches your heart, moves you and makes you think about life. And some movies will make you want to pack your bag, get on a plane, take off to adventure land, wander around the world and never return.
After you’ve seen these movies, you might want to get yourself a surfboard. Head to Australia. Or India. Become a yoga teacher. Live in the wilderness. Or in a van. And become a voyager whose home is the world. Check out my top three movie crushes:
1. GIVEN: follow the waves around the world 2. LION: home is where the heart is 3. INTO THE WILD: thou shalt not return.
“You just need to follow the stars, listen to the people you meet. And chase the waves“. This inspiring movie tells the story through the eyes of the 6-year-old Given, as he travels the world with his surfer parents Aamion and Daize Goodwin. This movie portrays the beauty of travelling in such a pure way.
“I’m not from Calcutta… I’m lost“. This movie tells the moving story of Saroo, a five-year-old Indian boy who gets lost on the streets of Calcutta, thousands of kilometres from home. After he’s adopted by a couple in Australia, he sets out to find his lost family in India.
“The core of man’s spirit comes from new experiences.” After graduating, Christopher McCandless abandons his possessions, gives his entire savings account to charity and walks the earth in ultimate freedom. He hitchhikes to Alaska and becomes lost in the wild.
